<Gallery Image in black and white by © Wolf Peter Weber of a Haleakala Silversword with a tiny little Kinilau (presumed) figure at its top.>
Most artists will experience a magic moment of sorts during their endeavors. Where it all
comes together: time, place, subject and light... Why the little Kinilau on the very top of
this isolated Silversword somewhere in the vast crater of Haleakala had chosen me to
record his coming out, straight from Hawaiian mythology, will remain a mystery. A Native advanced that PELE (see a vision!) might have had a hand in it; "She like you."
Tromp-l'oeil or mocker, the apparition was posing on the almost man sized plant
as if it was its ornament. "Mahalo, Mahalo, Mahalo."
